Post Mortem (ad hominem, in nomine patris)

The campaign is over and it is ,charitably speaking, only a partial success. The advice I got for the next campaign will be invaluable if I'm to succeed as a comic book writer  so lets do a list Non American money?? Something I never ever would have considered one kind soul said he doesn't ever invest in something not in US money .Its more difficult to see if your getting value for you hard earned cash.I wonder how many others felt the same way Not enough finished pages As a noob I naively thought my gorgeous promo art would be enough to entice readers? oh boy i was wrong on that one, people were not shy about telling me. The magic number of pages suggested varied from 5 to nearly complete A re write on the indiegogo page to make it "POP" I aint exactly a charming snake oil sales man from the old west. I sucked ass in every sales job I've ever had. so I'll consult a friend, he's a giant bullshit artist and should know when things so...

The campaign is nearly at an end...

and its is fair to say it has not done as well as hoped. its also fairer to say its done worse than even my nightmare worst case scenario. The inked and coloured preview page did not attract any new customers ,thought they looked brilliant .  My plan to relaunch quickly and keep the momentum going is my only hope right now. but like i said in other blog entries i still dont know what the holy fuck i did wrong? No matter how much i tweeted or made youtube videos I hit the wall at a £101 and no amount of up all night shilling helped in the slightest. Being of Irish origin  the idea of putting in all that work for fuck all result doesn't sit well with me. So I'm going to try again and again  and again God bless mike

Hitting the Wall running

My hoped for second wind on the first of the month doesn't seem to have transpired.hmm. back to the drawing board ,maybe. 16 days to go and 98 percent of the goal still left to fund things are looking slightly grim for this eternal optimist . Ill definitely be relaunching but  the problem is i need to know what i did wrong people were very sweet with good advice to begin with but  there is clearly something putting off prospective customers somewhere. my analytics's show several hundred visits to my indiegogo but very few investors. So i ask to anyone who has seen the crowd-funder and knows anything about this sort of stuff help a brother out and tell me where i seem to be loosing people, dont be shy dont be polite dont worry about offending  just be honest In 16 days a lot can happen

The Campaign for KreeKraw And Kris :Must Be Destroyed is motoring nicely I'm now nearing double figures for people wanting to buy the book. As my previous posts indicated i was a little worried by the slow start. Id been shilling it before Christmas and  assumed all of twitter land now knew about this action adventure romp. How niave i was. Things I've learned Never ever assume you've reached everybody, you fuckwit  promo art pages aint always enough to get people to buy into the book,(though they are so very very pretty) actual full comic pages will tell them more. Time zones, there I was busily beavering away on twitter making certain to shill like the wind, when i noticed only  got retweeted at strange times of day, could it be my fellow twitterers were all on colonial time?adjust yourself accordingly. likes and retweets dont mean a sale.when i worked for a telephone sales company (ugh) we were told its okay to not make a sale every time because we still make ...

5, its the magic number

After a slow and slightly worrying start things seems to be picking up. I'm up to 5 backers and im very pleased about that. As i said before I've seen great campaigns die on the vine for reasons i couldnt fathom and held the secret fear that it would be the same for my beloved comic as well.  So win ,lose or draw im gonna try my best at shilling the bastard all over twitter and if they dont keep banning me i should be albe to reach my potentail audience. Unrelated side Note Most of my followers appear to be american so im adjusting my twitter timetable to EST as i get alot more retweets and likes if i post late at night God Bless Mike
